Survey results confirm that America?does?run on coffee, and with last weekend hosting?National Coffee Day,?this may come with little surprise.?If you?re anything like me, you turn to a hot cup of Joe to start your day. Fortunately,?according to the recent survey by?Dunkin? Donuts and CareerBuilder,?I?m not the only one!
The new survey reveals the latest coffee consumption trends brewing in the U.S. workplace. The survey was conducted from August 13 to September 6, 2012 and included more than 4,100 workers nationwide.
So what professions drink coffee the most?? The survey found food preparation and service workers, scientists, and sales representatives consume the most coffee. Check out the full list of professions who need coffee to get through the workday:
- Food Preparation/Service Workers
- Scientists
- Sales Representatives
- Marketing/Public Relations Professionals
- Nurses (Nurse, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
- Editors/Writers/Media Workers
- Business Executives
- Teachers/ Instructors (K-12)
- Engineering Technicians/Support
- IT Managers/Network Administrator
Enjoy a cup full of other coffee statistics:
- Coffee helps younger workers stay productive with 62 percent of workers aged 18 to 24 stating they are less productive without coffee and 58 percent of workers aged 25 to 34 making the same claim.
- Workers in the Northeast are coffee champions with 64 percent Northeastern workers drinking at least one cup per day, compared to the South at 54 percent and the Midwest and West at 51 percent.
- Higher productivity boost for women with 47 percent of female workers claim they are less productive without coffee, compared to 40 percent of male workers.
If your profession is on this list, rejoice your caffeine addiction in a pumpkin spice latte, vanilla cappuccino, or a simple cup of coffee and cream.
