When a company comes out with a new device, it?s not uncommon to see the online community go to work to see what exploits can be taken advantage of as to allow the device to be opened. With Microsoft coming out with their own line of tablets, it was only a matter of time before the community was able to jailbreak their devices and we?re now learning that a jailbreak tool for the Windows RT tablet is available.
The process of jailbreaking the RT tablet can?t get any easier then the tool that was released. The process consists of booting up your Windows device to the desktop and then having the patience to let it sit at this point for a couple of minutes. At this point, you execute the batch file, respond to a couple of simple prompts and you?re done. Once the process is finished, you?ll have a Windows tablet that is capable of running any applications that have been recompiled for ARM.
As the first jailbreak tool for this tablet, it?s important to note that this is a tethered jailbreak and this means that every time you reboot your device, you will need to execute the batch file again. Work on an untethered jailbreak will probably start soon but in order to be successful, they may need to find a way to get by the UEFI Secure Boot feature.
